The grunge era was my scene. During the 1990's, I could inevitably be found in jeans, worker boots, rock band t-shirts and the ubiquitous flannel shirt, so when the opportunity arises to visit a store which advertises itself with the word "grunge", then I am naturally drawn in, like a fly to the spiders' web.
Things have definitely moved on since my grubby tee-shirt days! Cae.B stocks "grunge couture" women's clothing and it is nothing like the clothes I used to wear, and that is a very good thing. Each item of clothing is highlighted with dramatic frills, flyaway, voluminous skirts, coquettish feathers and dark, sumptuous tones. Were I more than a poor part-time journalist, I would snap up half of the store's inventory at once!
Autumnal shades are the order of the day here, with glowing golds and warm browns making up most of the designs. There are as many huge, flowing ball gowns on offer as there are more casual, fun outfits. There is a really eclectic flare for design on show.
Prices range from roughly L$150 to over L$300, but the bargain hunting visitor has not been forgotten. Tucked away beside the main entrance is a discount corner, with a wide selection of gowns and outfits being sold for some really low prices.
Also located near the entrance is a group joiner board and a little box which randomly hands out prizes on a regular basis to members who spend a certain amount of time in the store.
All in all, a wonderful place to shop with some excellent, fun and very frilly clothes to indulge in.
