by Kay Holmeforth

Lush, flower strewn meadows leading to a tropical shoreline. A picnic set laid out beneath the drooping branches of an ancient weeping willow. Gazebos and trellises dripping with roses and vines. Rosengarten is as close to the dictionary definition of tranquility as can be found in Second Life. Although it only appears to consist of a relatively small parcel of land, the clever use of foliage, the lack of clutter and the use of skyboxes lead to having a sense of openness and space.

At the landing point, visitors will find a gazebo packed with goodies - hunt boards, a lucky chair and a teleport directory which connects to various themed skyboxes. There are six main areas - a romantic garden which would be the perfect venue for a wedding; a tropical beach with the prerequisite palm trees, beach blankets, lapping waves and beach chairs; an autumn themed box, resplendent in gold and red foliage; an Asian garden full of sakura and willow and a winter set, complete with igloo and frozen stream.

Rosengarten is the brainchild and creation of Lilian Laville and everything of her making is for sale. A simple click on any item of hers will bring up a sales window. The prices are very reasonable and the standard of her items is excellent. The type of items for sale include everything someone might expect to find on this kind of sim - short bridges, tree swings, flower beds with integrated romantic poses - there are even a few dollarbies dotted around. On my visit, I only found one - a copy of the basic Asian garden skybox.

In short, Lilian Laville's Rosengarten is a wonderfully romantic setting to bring your partner, or to simply wander in quiet solitude while the world turns and the hustle and bustle of life passes by somewhere else for a while.
