As a parent of two, Sweet Baby Love's Clinic brings back a lot of very good memories.
At Sweet baby Love's, you can roleplay absolutely every stage of the conception, birthing and new parenting experience. The small mall outside the clinic caters for your child's play and educational needs, but also provides entertainment for the parents, with a streaming DVD rental service.
The real gem of this build, though, is the clinic itself.
Now I will happily admit to a little bias at this point, as I have attended a clinic very similar to this build in real life, so the whole experience is tinged with much nostalgia!
As you enter the clinic, you are faced with a gigantic and intricately detailed jungle mural, crammed with animals that will enthrall your inquisitive little bundle of energy for many hours. A hatch facing the entrance, almost camouflaged amongst the greenery, houses the reception office, with information and a donation box alongside some rather impressive looking medical competence and birth certificates.
In the clinic's foyer, you will find HUDs for every single possible occasion or event on your road to parenthood, and one simply cannot fault the stoic determination to provide for every possible eventuality - with a number of different maternity HUDs and AO's on sale, as well as conception HUDs, Paternity HUDs, contraception, breastfeeding and even STD HUDs available.
Radiating around the sides of the clinic are a number of treatment rooms, starting with a restroom with working bathroom off to the side, and continuing around clockwise, following the progression of the pregnancy - beginning with a very well equipped and decorated antenatal clinic, replete with reassuring diagrams, internal and external exam tables and, of course, an ultrasound station.
Next around is the birthing suite - and every option is catered for. The birthing pool has poseballs for mother, clinician and partner, the birthing table looks incredibly technical compared to personal experience and the scene is completed with a set of neonatal equipment - scales, a warming bed and a neonatal crib which is affectionately referred to in some circles as a fishtank!
Across the way from the birthing suite is the Emergency Room - starkly contrasting with the rest of the clinic, this room is laid out for speed and efficiency, with two beds - one specifically for C-sections and the other for general emergency treatments. In this, the clinic gets even more credit for it's realism and attention to detail. Nobody wants something to go wrong with their pregnancy, but here, as in real life, you are in good hands.
In between these two rooms are a couple of gender-specific "new arrival" rooms, with a bed for the recovering mother, a crib for the new baby and a thoughtful cuddle pose for the proud partner - as well as, of course, a changing station.
All in all, this is as close to a real clinic as you're likely to find in Second Life. The attention to detail is first class, the provision of care for every step of a woman's pregnancy simply can't be faulted - there are even ante-natal classes on offer and a childrens' medical exam room. If you're looking to have a baby in Second Life, this is definitely your one-stop-shop.
